“ Went here for drinks. Every drink was wonderful, we were a group of 11, and got lucky to walk right in on a Saturday night! I wish i would have more photos of the skyline and the overall atmosphere inside of Knoop. It was great. Since we were a larger group, we basically tried most of the drinks and loved them all!! ”

“ The space and the views are very nice. We didn't have the opportunity to try to food so I can't rate that yet, but the service and drinks were just fine. Definitely will return at some point to try the food. Hopefully on a warmer day so we can try the patio. Update: we had a chance to try the food and it was fantastic. ”

“ We didn’t really know much about it before going there and we were very impressed! It’s located on the 8th floor of the Canopy hotel in Grand Rapids. If you ask the hotel’s front desk, they’ll help direct you. The food was amazing! Not a typical type of quinine you can easily frond around GR. We were particularly impressed with the pretzels (exciting, I know...) But they are delicious! A unique sort of pretzel that’s almost croissant-like. The bratwurst were also delicious as well as perfectly cooked shrimp and fish. I’d recommend getting the Wurst Board your first time because it comes with a lot of different items to try. For dessert we tried the carrot cake, which is served as two individual cupcakes, which was perfect. Very impressed and excited to return! ”

“ Knoop is the hip new rooftop joint in GR, on top of the new hotel Canopy by Hilton. They have indoor and outdoor seating, both tables and lounge style. We sat outside in the lounge. There were some bugs, but it was tolerable and we were outside, so what do you expect? The menu is focused on German and Dutch cuisine styles like pretzels, sausages, and meatballs. There also some great seafood and salad options in addition to standard fare like burgers. Everything has a modern flair to it. While the menu is limited, there's something for everyone. Their signature dish is "Rooftop Chicken", a modern European take on chicken and waffles. I had the lobster quesadilla, which was fantastic. They have an extensive drinks menu with a rather large and unique cocktails list. Cocktails are pretty fancy, with fun presentation and premium ingredients. Also good wine and beer options, with local flights available. Usually it takes a little bit for new restaurants to get the kinks worked out, but everything was running smoothly for us from the get go. We got seated immediately, got drinks and apps promptly, our server was attentive and pleasant, service on the whole was top notch. Prices are a premium, but that's to be expected at a swanky new rooftop joint downtown. If a couple each gets a drink and entree and share an app, you can expect to spend 80 bucks-ish. Overall I'd recommend it, especially as a great date spot for conversation. ”

“ Went to dinner on a Monday night with a friend after a really long week. It was a perfect unwind experience. The service was prompt and we finally got to try the rooftop bar/outdoor seating. We shared a few plates ( always find yourself a hungry friend!) And they were delicious! My friend is a vegetarian and there was multiple options for her and they accommodated a couple that were not. Now. The service. Our server was amazing. Her name was Emma (or Emily) and she helped us have such a good time. (Emma if you ever see this review tell your cats I love them). It is pricy but it is a rooftop bar in GR and also everything is pricey so I wasn't blown away and we looked it up before coming so knew what to expect. If you are looking into going please know that it's best to call ahead for outdoor seating. Even on a Monday we needed to make a reservation for about 1.5 hours out so calling ahead saved us some stress of finding out at the time. Only criticism is I do wish there was some outdoor lighting for when it gets dark. ”
